My brand-new crate came in.  Why does it have two doors?

Mommy and Daddy got a new bed, big enough for all three of us.

2-17-2004

I got in big trouble today because I ate a hole in the new mattress.

I was a bad dog.

 2-22-2004

My website went online today.

I weighed 35lbs today.

2-26-2004

For whatever reason, I have been in a really good mood today.

Daddy made my Doctor's appointment for next Tuesday.  Her name is Dr. Deborah Schaefer.  I am suppose to get a microchip, blood work, spayed, and a new heartworm preventative......  What does Mommy and Daddy mean by "first day at school syndrome?"

2-29-04/3-01-04

I Have been really needing and asking for Mommy and Daddy's attention for these two days and kind of feeling a little depressed.  I have eaten, been drinking, and have played just fine....just being a little weird I guess.

3-02-04 (Vet Day)

"I HAVE A MEAN DADDY, and so far I am not at all impressed with the DOCTOR'S office."  This was how my day started out anyway.

We got to the Vet's office and went inside.  I was not scared of the Great Dane this time when I saw one. (I still say it was one of those horse things.)  I met a Chow and she seemed ok. (Needed a haircut though.)    I had to just sit there for about 30 min's while Daddy filled out papers.  Then this lady tried to get me to leave Daddy.....Yea, WHATEVER!   NOT!   I suddenly forgot how to "heal"  and walk with a leash...I fought a great fight.  I was getting the best of her when she stopped and picked me up.  Now this was just not fair!

You just will not believe what happened next,  DADDY LEFT!  (Bad Daddy)

Now, given my history up to this point, you must understand that when my "Daddy" was who came back to get me, I got so excited that I just let a stream of pee go that was; well, let's just say MAJOR and my tail was wagging at about 90 MPH.   (Ok, I looked like a shower head turned upside-down.)  Anyway, we got home and I don't really feel good.  I'm not sure this bionic-dog with computer-chip stuff is all that it is cracked up to be.  I now have to go back for a  follow-up visit in ten days to get my stitches removed.

Oh-by-the-way;  I'm suppose to restrict all my activity for 5 days,  we'll see how that goes.

3-06-04 I have so much to tell you!!!!!!!

I just don't know where to begin.

OK,  I GOT MY NEW SISTER TODAY!  WOW!!

She is great!  Mommy and Daddy call her Makensie. (They spell that kind of funny, huh.)  Makensie weighted 41 lbs today and is a rescued Shar Pei.  She is registered under the name Ma-Roo's Krismas Eve and has always been called Evie, because she was born on Christmas eve 2001.  Makensie and Evie sound a lot alike to me.

Ops,  so much for 5 days.  We played a lot today and went for a really long walk.  Makensie got a new crate just like mine.  She sure does drink a lot of water too.  Makensie had the same surgery and microchip as I did, but on Monday. (The day before me.)

Daddy and TheStoreShop.com are going to build her a website like mine soon. ( I'll help her to make sure it is good like mine.)

3-08-04

Mommy thinks it is funny to turn me upside down and call me a "Piggy-Bank" doggie.

Makensie and I have to go to the Doctor again on Wednesday morning.  I will get my stitches taken out and other stuff.  Makensie will get a check up and start all of her shots.

Where is Camping?  I don't know where it is, but I guess we are going there on Thursday and staying till Sunday.  I don't know if they have a computer there so it may be next week before I can update my diary again....(just in case)

P.S.  Makensie's Web Site goes online tonight, but it is no-where close to being finished.  http://www.Makensie.com

3-10-04

Makensie and I had to go to the Vet today.  Makensie had a full check up, got blood work done, heartworm medication, her first set of shots, and ear medication.  Makensie weighed 41 lbs.   I had to get dipped and I didn't like this at all.  I didn't get my stitches taken out yet because they want me to wait at least 10 days first, so Daddy will have to take them out this weekend.  Wow, tomorrow is when we go see this new place called "Camping."

 * Evening note:  I am not feeling very well and Mommy and Daddy are talking about not going to "Camping" tomorrow, but Dr. Schaffer said that I should be better by morning and if not, then I could go get a shot that would fix me.

3-11-04

I'm still not feeling well today but I ate all my breakfast and kept it all down.  Daddy told me it was suppose to rain all weekend so we may just go to Oklahoma to visit Nanny and Bill.  If the rain moved out in time then we will take the RV to "Camping" from Nanny's house.  The RV is being stored there since my house doesn't have available parking for it yet.

  Off to Oklahoma we go...

3-12-04

I'm still so sick.  It looks like we are not going to go see "Camping" on this trip.  (I really would rather stay right here and sleep anyway.)

3-13-04

It's Saturday and I'm just now starting to feel a little better.  Dr. Schaffer has been calling to check on me everyday.  (I really have a great Doctor!)

It has been decided that we are just going to stay here for the rest of the weekend and open and clean out the RV to get it ready for this year.

I played quite a bit today and Daddy took some pictures:

Movie of me and Makensie playing at Nanny and Bill's

    Picture album of this weekend

 3-19-04

We went to get Drew tonight.  Drew is my "real" non-fur brother.  He is 12 years old and is in the 6th grade.  He lives in the country way far off.  He lives close to "Camping."  (I'm kind-of confused about where "Camping" is.  I'm starting to think that maybe there is more than one "Camping."

I'm almost well now with just a little morning cough due to sinus.  Dr. Schaffer gave me a different medicine today instead of getting any more dips.  (I'm liking her more and more all the time.)

Starting tomorrow, Makensie will be eating only my food as she will have been fully adjusted over.

3-25-04

Makensie and I got baths tonight.  We really needed them.  Makensie was so dirty, that the water was tan in color when she was through.  She smells much better now too! (She told me the same thing though.)  Mommy said that this might have been Makensie's very first bath because she was so dirty.  Daddy wanted to use that "brush" thing on me, but I was able to defend myself from it:   (movie)   I'm sorry that the lighting is so terrible, but it was just one of those Kodak moments.

My "Awards" page is filling up really fast and the traffic to my site is increasing logarithmically everyday.  Almost 30% of my visitors are requesting translations so Mommy is working on a Spanish version.  Daddy put a counter on my index page last night so everyone could see.

I got a very special email tonight from Darla Smith, one of the founders of www.k9rescuedltd.org and the author of what might be the most web-infamous APBT information pages in the world today.

Makensie is finally learning "Sit."  I am mastering two new commands; "Stay" and "give me a kiss."  I am really good at "Sit," "Shake," "Lay Down," and "Go to your Crate."  I also know that "Don't Bite, Ouch" means to LICK PROFUSELY instead.

3-27-04  The Morning Of The BIG Rescue!

My BIG Rescue!  This morning I found the oddest little creature hiding under a plant in the back yard.  I could not figure out what it was.  This little animal (I guess,) was like nothing I have ever seen before.  It was about the size of Squirrel (my little-bitty sister) and had some hair and some feathers and a little horn sticking out of it's face.  It didn't make any sound.  I thought for a moment that I might have found a unicorn.  I went to get Daddy.  When he came to see it, he told me it was a baby bird that had fallen from its nest.  Daddy then went inside and came back with some gloves and a box with some of Squirrel's bedding stuff in it.  Daddy put the baby bird in the box and took it inside.  Next, Daddy got the ladder and climbed to where the nest was.  The nest had broken apart from the strong winds.  In a part of the nest that been caught by a branch, there was another baby.  Daddy then tried to rebuild the nest in another location and make it big and strong enough to hold both babies and their parents.  He told me that we would be really lucky if the parent birds would accept our new nest.  Daddy used mostly pieces from the old nest to try to keep the scent right and then put bedding in the bottom to fill the holes and to give some warmth to the babies.  Sometimes luck really pays off. (I wish we had played the lottery!)  One of the parent birds did come to the new nest and everybody is doing fine right now.  Here are some pictures of the new home.  I'll take more when I can and show the babies too.

The Birds Photo Album

The baby birds flew from the nest this morning.  I added the last bird photos to the album.  Here are two movies showing one of the babies and the Mother after the first flight.

4-08-04

Mommy took Makensie and I to a new park today.  It was a long concrete trail with a creek in the middle and a lot of people.  We saw Daddy riding one of his bicycles on this trail.  Daddy stopped to see us and I was so happy to see him in this place that we have never been.  Chisholm Trail is the name of this trail.

4-26-04

Miss Tatiana sent me an e-mail today.  She found all the information about my breeders.

4-28-04

Daddy called my breeders today and talked to them for a while.  He told me that I can probably get my papers real soon.  YES!

4-30-04

Makensie had to go to the doctor's office today.  She had her eye surgery and got her teeth cleaned.  Makensie has to wear a lamp shade for several days.  She looks so funny.

8-22-04

My First Birthday today.  Pictures here.  Being older now, Mommy and Daddy told me I have to start working on my manners so they taught me how to say "Please."

10-22 thru 10-24-04

Camping!!!  All five of us went camping this weekend.  Our trip was to Tyler State Park.  See the photo album.  Squirrel went with us too because she has to take medicine at 8am. and 8pm.  Her Vet said that she might have to have a surgery...I think she might be the first hamster to get a surgery.

This was the first weekend that Daddy did not have school and he said we were going to go camping whether it rained or not.  Weather may be a better word, because it sure rained so hard Friday night.  The big camping crate, ( Mommy and Daddy call it the "pop-up")  started leaking water about 12:30am.  Daddy had to go outside and put tarps over the top of the pop-up.

It took him about an hour to fix the leak (leaks), and he was so wet when he came back inside the big camping crate.

This was the first time for any of us to visit Tyler State Park, except for Daddy who likes to ride his bike here.  Daddy rode on Friday afternoon, but said it was too wet to ride the trail after Friday night's rain.

There were a lot of "big" camping crates everywhere.  Mommy called them "RV's".  Most of them had a dog staying in the big "RV" crate too.  These "RV's" were prettier than our camping crate on the outside, but we were the best looking dogs there.....and our pop-up is so different on the inside than from the outside....I think that the inside of our camping crate may be better than all the other RV camping crates.

By Saturday morning, Makensie and I were so ready to come home. We were bored.  Everything was wet, there was kids making too much noise and running around the camping area, and we were just bored.  Daddy started cooking breakfast.  It smelled so good; bacon, eggs (for Momma), sausage, toast, and coffee.  Wow, ok, I'm starting to see the benefits of this camping thing.  Well, Makensie and I just got our usual breakfast and just enjoyed the smell.

Next thing was the trip to take showers.  Makensie nor I got to participate in this, but we were glad that Momma and Daddy did.  While one was in the shower, we got to go hiking with the other one.  This was great.  I really like to climb this steep hillside.  Makensie says that she would prefer an escalator.

Time for our big walk...Mommy has been taking a nap with us and Daddy has been doing homework.  We are ready to make the entire trip around the lake....lets, go!

  Such a great trip!

Ok, time to start getting ready to head home.  I really like it here, but I cant wait to get back to "my house" and my back yard.

The big crate is down and repacked and we are ready to go home.

Camping was great!   When do we get to come back?
